In a plea to the Assam Government by the Meghalaya’s Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Minister Sanbor Shullai for cattle transport permit as red meat price has soared in the state.
But Assam government as of now not putting a nod to agreement of issuing permit to the cattle traders though trying to consider on to the matter. For hassle free transportation of cattle from Assam Meghalaya had officially written the matter after the Assam Assembly passed the Assam Cattle Preservation Bill, 2021. Meghalaya cattle traders cannot purchase cattle from Assam without permit of transportation from Assam authorities.
