Lower Assam Nalbari district of Assam is gradually picking up
its fishery production where recently in a three-day training programme had introduced modern technologies for successful fish breeding in small to big
reservoirs so that farmers could garner better price from Guwahati central
market.
Since Guwahati is the main nerve centre of fish trading in
Assam could gain fish products from local markets like Nalbari district at
better price instead of depending on import products. Under Krishi Vigyan
Kendra and the Assam Agribusiness and Rural Transformation Project (APART) in this training workshop that was held in three batches near about hundred Nalbari fish farmers had participated where carp polyculture effective technique was
emphasized for effective poduction.
