“Rongali Bihu” the grand mark of festivity as a Spring welcome will be marked off in a different way by Assam with introduce of its first Gamocha Mela in the state at the Bastra Bhawan venue of Ambari locality from 8th to 13th April.
Headed under Assam Handloom and Textile department of Kamrup Metro this Gamocha Mela is to set its five weavers extension service and 15 cooperative societies of weaver participants at the Mela to be conducted initially at 2 pm on 8th April.
Gamocha Mela’s biggest challenge is to complete their mission of setting 30,000 Gamocha sales mark which will be a great boost to Assam textile market.
