Beginning of Rongali Bihu has
witnessed unaccountable losses due to heavy lashes of storm, hailstorm and rain
all over Assam where APDCL the power distribution center is highly affected as the
risk in restoration and connection jobs during natural calamity intensifies.
On an emergency note APDCL had to
snap power in entire Guwahati for a long duration as assessment of manpower
distribution to a greater range of area and to satisfy all at a short notice in
a place like metro area Guwahati is highly strenuous to ideate with handful of
people during main peak of Rongali Bihu holiday.
Currently APDCL’s power supply
demand in entire metro Guwahati city is 500 MW on normal basis where after huge
damage to power network infrastructure it is yet to assess its restoration job on
a complete note. Estimates restoration process in highly damaged areas to peak
slow due to inevitable condition and constrain of required manpower to manage
and direct the whole affair by APDCL.
