Earlier voting process was quite
a hurdle for the specially abled citizens without any assistance but now in
2019 after five years of Bharatiya Janata Party’s ruling, the poll booth system
has improved with support of high end technology where even blind can certify
with assurance about quick, easy and successful voting.
Certification of blind citizen’s
equal participation with quick and easy Braille voting system will be ensured
with slips and ballot papers facilities as an acknowledgement of their right to vote
though not being physically able under the newly introduced Enajori,
sensitization programme in Assam, Northeast.
Part of Social Welfare Department’s
initiative the Enajori programme ensures equivalent participation of the
specially able voters like the rest with provision of escort system,
consultation for legal processing and clarification on doubts to encourage them morally.
This special PwD category voters in
short terms of Braille poll system will be encouraged with special facility
under Article 326 of Indian Constitution.
This Braille poll system which is
an integrated part of Enajori programme
was launched on this Thursday by Mukesh Sahu the chief electoral officer (CEO)
Assam who marked this joint initiative with the Social Welfare Department to
achieve maximum voter's participation in 2019 election.
