In a never ever happened scenario in India, about 66000 ration cards supporting 2.8 lakh population of Tripura state of Northeast were detected to be fake while processing identification through AADHAR card link.
This hit the elders of Tripura most when all the accounts holding to state’s social pensions under the previous Left Front governance were ceased. According to Minister Chakma the main root cause due to which fake records were detected was due to citizen’s inconvenience to update their social pension record as per to 33 schemes norms of the previous governance.
Presently there are about 403975 social pensions beneficiaries under 33 schemes which annual update were not processed on time due to which counter of fake ration holders increased in the state.
This new initiative of the new government had impelled 500 to surrender voluntarily their cards out of fear of counteracting any legal action against them when they are not aware about the actual fact. The new government has taken the initiative to update it to clarify the list of faulty pension holders.
Today 80 % account holder are in peace now from any legal action them as the government has check verified them ok, where rest configuration on faulty or suspicious pension card holders will be completed within 15 days deadline.
