Already the Indian government has launched survey on Agartala to Akhaura
railway site with implementation of MEA six-member delegation.
To inspect railway site on India and Bangladesh front to
prepare 15.054 km long railway track from Akhaura, Tripura to Bangladesh to enhance
trade between two neighboring nations.
West Bengal is quite eager in this new development venture by
Indian Railway authority to benefit trade relation with Bangladesh via Tripura that
is scheduled to complete by next year on 2020. New Akhaura rail connectivity is
emphasized to reach faster Bangladesh with reduce of 31 hours journey from
Kolkata via Agartala as from present distance of 1600 km will be shorten to 550 km
track.
