Today, Northeast’s zones like Assam and Meghalaya have the
potentiality to play the key role in driving India’s food export economy as production
quantity and quality of its turmeric and tea products meets the international standard
but if the outcome is further boosted then the farmers are ensured with double increment
in their earning.
It’s by 2022 the government has planned to escalate farmers’
package if their productivity of tea and turmeric meets as per to the international
export demand under the Agricultural Export Policy, 2018 that is sanctioned by
the Union Cabinet. This new venture of Indian government to boost agro productivity
in various regions and segments is known as cluster policy. Headed under
cluster development policy about eighteen products has been approved in India
from various states on the scale of export contribution, present export
production, existent market network, export market size and futuristic goals.
