Taking to the strategy to boost healthy and enduring
treatment to all kinds of diseases and injuries through the way back ancient
technique of herbs and roots medicinal cure process by staging the two day
programme “Support to the Traditional Healers for Strengthening and Capacity Building”
under the Bio-Resources Development Centre of Meghalaya government for the better
exposure of the traditional natural healers of the state.
This health awareness and educative programme is financially supported
by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs under centre’s Article 275 (1) where even required
tool kits have been provided to the healers during
the session of treatment. The North East Christian University (NECU) has great contribution in leveraging such programmes in the state as they are authorized to certify quality of the traditional healers as per to the standard criteria and in enrolling them in government schemes.

To endure this valuable healthy practice which is fading
under the threat of technology which assures fast relief and cure, the Ministry
for Healthy and Family Welfare, A L Hek requested the people to continue this
noble mission and help preserve state’s bio resources.
