Earlier on to the contrary
version of junior Railway Minister for not allowing rail network in the state the
Chief Minister Mukul Sangma on Thursday 9th Feb appeared optimistic on
welcoming Indian Railway project if it is interested in central India connectivity
instead of keeping it limited to Guwahati destination.
Sangama added that influx
is a temporary issue against the launch of railway project in Meghalaya which will
resolve once the government orders for the implementation of rail network in
the state. In regard to land acquisition issue, alignment, check post and other
factors have been worked out where survey on setting rail network is on process
according to Sangma but where influx matter is concerned as objected by various
opposition groups it need to be worked out.
Before rail tracks are set the
government aims to ensure influx safety measure before allowing railway function
in the state though no matter center’s railway mission can become a game
changer in Meghalaya’s tourism economy.
