Mizoram’s bright future
is overshadowed by drug menace and to make better place for the younger
generation, the state government has approached US government’s Drugs
Enforcement Agency (DEA) assistance to combat against the evil.
The issue is about
the Golden Triangle, positioned near to Myanmar border from which smuggled
drugs are supplied globally. It is a difficult drug war which the Mizoram
government cannot singly uproot without the expert aid due to which Drugs
Enforcement Agency of US was approached to help improve the tactics of the
Mizoram Excise and Narcotics Department to control drug menace.
Drugs Enforcement
Agency of US will be involved in overall training to equipment supplements to help
ace Mizoram force to combat against drug
in identified areas where currently the border area of 404-km that is lying in between
Maynmar is the target zone of drug activity.
