Assam Prepares To Enliven Its 5th century AD Episode Alive

People familiar to Gupta civilization of 5th century AD must be surprised to know that that in Tezpur, Assam holds many untold mysteries and magnificent architecture of that time which are tourist’s delight, the government is planning for major tourism development process here.


One of the special attractions of Tezpur is its ancient Siva Temple sitting at Da-Parbatia, which is said to have close connectivity to mythological concept of India. This ancient temple still standing rock like considered being the oldest among all in Assam.


Fascinating historical stories of popular demigods and demons lay concealed in the scattered ruins of multiple ancient complexes which are archeologists and historians’ delight of India. Understanding Tezpur’s immense potentiality to drag tourists from all sphere of the globe the government is inclined to enhance its development process for greater economic turnover. Already Indian Government has accepted Sarbanada Sonowal’s proposal of tourism development scheme and sanctioned Rs. 500 corer configures Tezpur as vital area for tourism development process.



Tezpur which came to existent during Aryan settlement holds its breathtaking tourism sites at on northern bank of Brahmaputra River where its historical treasures stand. In modern era by advent of East India Company the rich architecture, sculpture and ruins enriched with cultural light. ET Dalton, William Robinson, T, Bloch and EV Westmacot pioneers in ancient ruin study were major contributors in bringing to exposure Tezpur’s rich historical context relating from t 5th century AD, 7th century AD to the tenth century AD.
