Nagaland and Mizoram are Fervently Recognized for India’s Textile Output


 
No doubt 15% export revenue of India is derived from textile industries; the Textile Minister Santosh Kumar Gangwar gave recognition to Northeast textile industrial state’s contribution in leveraging its growth like Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura.


Seven states of Northeast’s main economic backbone is handicraft sector where textile sector is doing a booming business due to extraordinary stuff productivity. Apart from large scale productivity the export quality textile materials from Northeast are comparatively expensive to rest in India.


According to the Textile Minister Santosh Ministry there was dramatic 22% profit from handicraft and wear items with 8% increase in textile exports.

Promised greater job opportunity in this lane of business with soon implementation of seven years package plan worth Rs.17,822 crores under Amended Technology Upgradation Fund Scheme (ATUFS) by the Minister.


Investment will be made on Northeast’s well structured textile industries according to Gangwar. The textile Minister even emphasized on the extension of apparel and garment units in crucial business driven zones of northeast after successful launch in Nagaland, Mizoram and Tripura.


It is in the attempt to open up more employments to the local youths and in modifying the hand loom section to restore its previous scale of productivity. To boost more weavers in this domain of hand loom business Gangwar plans to increase pay per day to Rs. 500.
