Fate of bread owners still dangles uncertain as the examination
drive is stalled momentarily due to Ambubachi festival and will resume after it
according to The Assam Public Health Laboratory at Bamunimaidam, Guwahati.
Decision to emphasize on collection of more samples will be made
after June 27 according to food safety officer, L.R. Nampui. It is a massive
task since single sample requires at least two weeks time to be certified. What
about the fate of remaining samples out of 80? Till yet 20 samples are
certified as negative that is appreciable on the counterpart of those
manufacturers when rest part of India is raking with massive negative result.
Randomly tested 20 samples collected from various bakeries of
Northeast are declared as safe consuming according to APHL's food analyst
Anupam Gogoi.
Still yet to be known whether the horrifying story of 84 per
cent positive tested pre-packaged bread out of 38 branded bread samples in
nation’s capital will repeat in Northeast states also after complete test of
the remaining. It depends how Food Safety and Standards Authority of India
takes action against the users of potassium bromate and iodate in food production.
