It is to grab UNESCO”S attention for Intangible Cultural Heritage Status for which the Assam government through author cum academician Dr Sanjib Kumar Borkakoti and musician Dilip Changkakoty the expert members of the International Committee for Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICICH) proposed Bihu and Borgeet for the title though Manipur first from Northeast succeeded earlier for the status in its San Kirtan.
