Sivsagar’s weightlifter Poppy Hazarika who at least qualified for Common Wealth Games before losing her 60 kg target in Birmingham is from a remote area and financially not sound where her parents state that to help her pursue career in weightlifting she need support from the government.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has initiated many sport complexes to facilitate for training purpose but if the sports talent cannot afford then their luster will be lost for being poor. Everyone excel by losing just like Poppy Hazarika but there should be financial support to sustain the fight and bring glory to the nation.
