It was after happy hour lunch at 2.52 p.m. for most in
Guwahati taking time out of their busy schedules when suddenly under their feet
the surface swagged to and forth with strong intensity that take took many in panic towards their exit but before they could reach the quake intensity died.
A Guwahati resident who was on the phone at the same time
with her mother revealed how powerful the quake intensity was and stated, “My
mom on the other end in Barpeta district was many miles away from Guwahati city where I am residing
who along with me felt the strong jolt at the same time.” It shows the intensity of the earthquake that rocked Northeast, India but worse will be if it continues.
The 5.5 Richter scale intensity quake that jolted Assam had
its epicenter in Arunachal Pradesh’s East Kameng district. Meghalaya and
Nagaland are the other Northeastern states who were affected by the quake but
there were no reports of causalities.
