Assam People Expect NRC Extension From Supreme Court

Hit severely by flood Assam people eagerly waits for the Supreme Court to justify NRC verification process with proper effective extended date timeline so that they can overcome the present hurdle of the situation.


“People are shelterless, helpless without food and water, threatened by disease and insecurity, knee deep muddy road to their village house. The situation of flood affected people are unspeakable where present NRC deadline could be a sword on their neck as without the ability to control the present phase how they can fulfill National Register of Citizen’s requirement,” Manjula Kakoti asks if the Apex court do not understand the situation and wish proper extended timeline.


“There is no issue In Supreme Court’s undertaking of legal immigration process but natural calamity is not in the control of the government nor public. But to understand flood affected people’s plight and the necessity of proper NRC process so that not a single citizen is left out is in the hands of India’s higher justice panel of body,” Mahendra Debnath expected from Supreme Court on NRC date extension.


The State and Central government are to push Supreme Court to extend NRC’s prior date time line on 31st July as it is a matter of 1.2 lakh people’s fate who were detected to be ineligible and reverification demanded by public.
