Successful Ropeway To North Guwahati Base Can Be A Greatest Economic Achievement!


Speculation going on strong to implement successfully Ropeway terminal points from one end of Guwahati city’s Brahmaputra bank near Kachari Ghat of Panbazaar area to Dol Govinda of North Guwahati where recently on 5th March a trial run on it was launched.

The Ropeway system that is planned from Panbazaar ‘s Kachari ghat to North Guwahati at Dol Govinda temple point is estimated to end on road hours journey to just eight minutes only.


Heavy crowd’s jostle to catch waterway transport is expected to end with Ropeway terminus points that will cover the huge distance between the two banks in just 2 kilometres. Passengers to North Guwahati is huge especially during dol jatra or holi time as pilgrims visit to Dol Govinda temple is to intensify during this phase of time where Ropeway terminus can be an effective transport  alternative. To save time and relish quality time at Dol Govinda temple which is an ideal pilgrim point of Assam Tourism.

Completion of this river passenger Ropeway project is expected to be India’s only longest one that is under Samir Damodar Ropeways.
