Assam On 10/10 Countdown To Extend Its ASEAN Horizon


Assam on 10/10 countdown to extend its ASEAN horizon and the state government has currently planned for a proposal to the Centre to pitch for all the ten consulates of  the South East Asian nations to improve relation, networking and economic ties with them.


Assam has already pocket in two ASEAN consulate like BBN (Bangladesh-Bhutan-Nepal) including Bangladesh and Bhutan where in the pursuit to acquire rest of the consulates the state government has initiated talks with the external affairs ministry to succeed in South East Asian nation’s co-operation.


Futuristic plan to  direct more international flight operation from Guwahati international air base with the Asian countries by the Assam Chief Minister Sarbanda Sonowal is in the aim to further accomplish this dream of international economic relation for the prosperity of the state.


Presently the state government is planning to improve flight network and business relation with all the ASEAN nations held within the proximity of 2,000 kilometer from Guwahati air base. The plan for win 10/10 consulates win of ASEAN countries was initiated during the successful attempt to establish ASEAN summit that was launched on 7th February, 2019. Introduce of the Act East Policy by the Centre under BJP government has vast opened doors for the Northeast states in successful partnering with the ASEAN nations for greater economic bridge and opporunities.
