Today, organic supplement in the
international market is the key mantra where Northeast, India is favorably
playing a key role for being a favorite export contender of pineapple known as
the Queen fruit as it meets trending global market guidelines.
Backbone of increase organic
production in Northeast region is due to its favorable agro-climatic condition
where Nagaland claims the spot for best quality pineapple producer. But it is
Assam, Tripura and Manipur sources from where organic pineapples are mined to
the national and international market as it has notable production centers that
meet international guideline.
Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh,
Mizoram and Meghalaya are also increasing their organic pineapple production to
meet the export deadline. Currently this pivotal seasonal fruit crop of
Northeast touches production of near proximity of 1 Lakh MT annually.
Demand of organic fruit produces
are increasing as people are slowly getting aware about the health threat of
synthetic inputs in crop cultivation for greater productivity. Organic farming
produces are the best answer against the harmful crop production with synthetic
based components like fertilizers, pesticides, hormones, additives and
artificial chemicals. Today, like Sikkim multiple states of Northeast are
planning to bear the same ‘organic state’ tag.
