'Mou-ntain and the City'
theme based 3rd conference on urban futures initiated issues regarding challenges in managing the fast developing regions based in Himalayan terrain on 9th and 10th February in New
Delhi.
Nagaland which is included in this altering height geographic region with
highest growing urban population expressed management challenges relating to
factors like demographic, topographic, weather and land procurement to ensure
proper habitation.
Technology and infrastructure development process really takes a setback
when they are not able to confront geographic issues and really needs solution
for effective urban mangement.
Complexities to Himalayan or mountain terrain habitation would not have
posed if not for haphazard infrastructure development process without prior
proper planning. Experts of about 150 plus from nations abroad like from Germany, Chile, Nepal and Bhutan came to share their practical and effective views to counteract urban management issues at this conference.
