Nagaland had Taken 70th Independence with Extra Caution

 
This enforce of traffic regulation with security arrangement by Nagaland's authority proved to be quite effective to calm the tension shrouded in the environment during such national celebrations.

There are many cases of threat following on each Independence Day in Nagaland but this time extra measures have been initiated by the security department of the government according to Senior Superintendent of Police, Kohima.


Pass for appropriate vehicle owners were only issued for entry in Secretariat Plaza. Prohibition of vehicle parking by roadsides on particular route starting from M.S. Classic Island to Assembly Secretariat via Razh Point and Raj Bhavan from 6am observed specially on 70th Independence Day.


Route from Assembly Secretariat via Sanuoru subway to High School junction, heavy vehicles were not allowed for parking excluding government departmental buses. During the hours of Independence Day celebration heavy vehicles were barred from plying on Kohima town roads. 


Even prohibition was implemented on block roads for heavy duty vehicles by Kohima police authority to keep tension of terror attack at bay. Careful attention is also taken for default vehicles with public cooperation to tow it away if security personnel suspect trouble along with possible imposition of fine to its owner.
