The wave of flood
that pounded upon Assam with repeated trail of disaster during annual fall of
monsoon with more alarming manner in 2016,
only the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Nalbari and the State Institute of
Rural Development (SIRD) could help the farmers to cope with the aftermath
situation through effective surviving techniques.
Effective
program had
been launched to help the farmers to take effective diversification to
crop cultivation by the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in combo effort with
the
State Institute of Rural Development (SIRD) of Nalbari district.
These series of
awareness-cum training programmes will be catered to
the flood affected farmers living on farming process to emerge with more advanced ideas
to overcome the loss. Scientist of KVK department, Dr. Mridul Deka of Nalbari
division emphasized on fast adaptation of effective technological techniques to
cope with the situation for quick productivity from cultivation. Major technological
initiatives have been taken by Assam Agricultural University.
Training on latest techniques
to the farmers of Nalbari was provided by KVK team. So that the farmers can quick adapt varied
alternative rice growing techniques for best result within short span. Varied rice
items like Luit, Dishang, Nabin etc including other crop cultivation like Rabi
crop which include Lentil Rajmah, Toria are trained to the farmers for best
effective result through usage of organic manure without chemical input. Measures
to take care of livestock, certain advance processes are trained on straw
treatment with usage of urea and molasses to enhance increase nutritive value
of livestock, deworming technique, cultivation of fodder and vaccine against
fatal diseases to the farmers.
