Elephant Dead In Timber Smuggling Crossfire In Assam

It was at the peak morning in Dehing Patkai National Park, assam when an elephant was shot dead by the forest security in an encounter with timber smuggle

Since the park is situated at the remote area where heavy vehicles do not enter, elephants are used as transport for smuggling timber. The park is controlled by timber mafia and had been trading logs for years where this time in the recent fierce encounter with forest personnel only the elephant was caught in fire with no trace of the smugglers.
