Orchidarium Meghalaya Gets A Royal Opening At Shillong For Tourist Attraction


It is a national pride for Meghalaya state of Northeast to open an extensively widespread Orchidarium at an area of 6000 square feet to promote for desired international clients to outgrow its international market with more inflow of tourist to this IBSD (Institute of Bio-resources and Sustainable Development) ventured venue that is headed under the Ministry of Science and Technology.


Opening of Orchidarium in Shillong is to secure extensive rare Meghalaya orchids and outgrow abundant existent breed by attracting bio-entrepreneurs to influence its market as there is global demand of it in floral market.


In this mega orchid initiative in Meghlaya the IBSD Director Dinabandhu Sahoo feels pride in this rare initiative as Meghalaya stands to be the first state in India to have such an exclusively designed Orchidarium with super climate regulating system apart from extensive range of display of its rich  resources of orchid breed that are highly costly comparing to normal floral products.


To stage 439 current species of orchids in the Orchidarium is not an easy job where IBSD under this mega project initiativne is to install naturally built houses from tree and bamboo in creative ways to attract more clients for market positioning and global visitors to it.
